Benin has adopted the LADM standard (ISO-19152) for land administration

Benin's land administration will be based on an international standard ISO-19152:2012, the Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) https://www.iso.org/fr/standard/51206.html.) The ISO standard is a uniform model, but at the same time land administration is unique for each country. Therefore, each country needs to parameterise the model according to its national context before applying it. During the past months Dutch experts have been working together with their Beninese colleagues from the Agence Nationale du Domaine et du Foncier (ANDF) to define Benin's LADM profile.

The PMAF project aims at registering the presumed ownership of plots according to the LADM Benin profile. Data collection recently started in the communes of Bohicon and N'Dali. Next to presumed ownership, the LADM Benin profile supports also the registration of the ownership of plots having a formal land title as well as disputed plots and use rights.

The LADM Benin profile is available in English and French.
